What to think about when buying a puppy

To make the right decision when planning on buying a puppy you, as a buyer, need to be aware that most web sites with puppies for sale carry puppies from anyone breeding their dogs.
Dog breeding is a huge business and a lot of people breed because of greed and really shouldn't be breeding at all! Puppies that grow up in puppy-mills are more likely to be abused, not handled enough and maybe even starved and we advice everybody to report these puppy-mills to the authorities as soon as possible.
How do you know it is a puppy-mill?
Most of the time puppy-mill breeders have several different breeds to try to maximize their profit. Serious breeders only have one breed they have specialized in and most of the time they do it to get champions from their lines.

What to look for?
You need to be able to speak to the breeder directly and you also need to be able to, if possible, visit the breeder and what type of environment the puppies live in. Is it clean? Do they look healthy? Can you see the parents of the puppy?
You need to educate yourself about the breed you are insterested in so you can ask the right questions.
At PawSitesOnline you can view reviews about the breeder and that way you know if it is safe to buy from that breeder. We strive to only list the best and serious breeders but it is up to buyers to tell us if the breeder is serious or not.
